Thanks to the 2017 SRI team for a fun week!

Thanks to everyone participating in the 2017 Summer Research Institute at UCSC for a really fun session on protein crystallography. This year's team featured twelve students in six teams:

Team Molecool, Zoboomafoo!, Caution! Covfefe, Naje Wolfgang, Costco Pizza, and Vipers. We discussed protein structure and x-ray crystallography, and then designed a screen to optimize Proteinase K crystals. Shown above, Natalia Ubilia is looping one of Team Molecool's ProK crystals and freezing it for a trip to the 8.3.1 beamline at the Advanced Light Source. Go Natalia!
