What does a wood-fired oven have to do with science?

We just got back from our lab retreat at on an amazing fruit farm in Gualala, located on the California coast west of Sonoma. We enjoyed homemade pizzas and the beautiful view while doing some lab bonding and chatting about the upcoming year's science goals.

Favorite moment: Carlo aptly impersonating The Dude while drinking homemade Limoncello Milk (yes, apparently that's a thing -- thanks, Priya!).

Close second favorite moment: Our annual white elephant gift exchange after a terrific group-cooked lab feast.

Most Valuable Player: the Australian sheepdog puppy from the Airbnb property who won our hearts over.
